top hat, fencon

Quick gym update before I log in for dailies.

Exercise: about 32 minutes of elliptical at a 10 incline and 1 resistance. 2.0 miles of distance, 291 calories burned.
Miles to Rivendell: 450.5
Reading material: John Scalzi's The Android's Dream. I don't think I'm going to be able to keep reading hardbacks on the elliptical.  My arms aren't long enough to keep the book open on the elliptical's little ledge without leaning too far forward and hurting my back.  I also can't really just hold the book and not hold onto the machine because I've never had the greatest balance in the world, so I think hardback books are going to be relegated to the treadmill only.  I'll have to stick with podcasts or paperbacks on elliptical days.

Excellent new bra I tested at the gym today and why I like it so much: The Goddess GD2000. (My geek side is pleased that it sounds like a high-tech machine.)

I have difficulty spending any great amount of time on a treadmill, and it's even worse on the elliptical, not just because my lungs are crappy, but because of the bounce factor.  I'm a 38H, which means without proper support I start to hurt after a few minutes.  I've been wearing two sports bras at once (something like this) but they crush my ribs too tightly and cut into my skin by the time I"m done, and still don't reduce the bounce as much as I'd like.

After almost two years of this, I got fed up and went back to one of my favorite places for this kind of help - Loretta's. I tried on several sports bras before settling on this one (too bad they horribly overexposed the pics, so you can hardly see what it looks like.)  It has a million hooks up the front, but no underwire to bruise me, and it reduces the bounce to something completely manageable.  It's also mostly racerback, which I prefer, and is significantly more comfortable than any other bra I own, even the other ones I have from Loretta's, so I'm going to be picking up a few more.

Any of you in the DFW area who can't even shop at Lane because your cup size is too big?  Go to Loretta's.  They'll do a proper fitting for you and find something that will almost certainly be better than what you're wearing now.

In other news, my right shoulder hurts.  Weight machines are going to be fun tomorrow.

Loretta's? Really? I've given up on buying standard bras, and have just been going with Decent Exposures for years. Where is Loretta's?

The one I go to is over here on my side of town, at 75 and Plano Parkway, approximately. They're in a little strip on the south side of Collin Creek mall.

However, it looks like there's one a little closer to you at Parker Square in Flower Mound.

Thanks for the recommendation. Sports bras have always been a big pain for me, too. I might have to check that one out.
